p.s. thought you might like to know, i ran into randy newman in the L.A. airport yesterday. he was in a hurry looking for his check-in place. apparently his limo driver dropped him off in the wrong spot and i watched his short people legs march away. a big thrill for me.

The Critic, Jay Sherman (John Lovitz) was visiting Springfield and staying over at the Simpson family residence.

Marge: Oh, I invited my sisters over.
Jay: Ooh, sisters. Allow me. [walks to door, screams at sight of Patti and Selma]

Jay: [on the couch] So then I said to Woody Allen, "Well, Camus can do, but Sartre is smartre!"

[Patty laughs]
Selma: So original.
Marge: How droll!

Homer: Yeah, well, "Scooby Doo can doo-doo, but Jimmy Carter is smarter."

[a bale of detritus blows across the living room]
