They have to choose the precise wording, as if they're writing their own poem. It's not "stealing" (as long as he had permission, which I'm sure he did).
But if I misunderstood what you were saying, then sorry...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13173932.post-1136664817775062232006-01-07T15:13:00.000-05:002006-01-07T15:13:00.000-05:00Googlism for: mark strandmark strand is undeniably...Googlism for: mark strand

mark strand is undeniably one of these luminaries
mark strand is available to ticket holders at 7
mark strand is a very well laid
mark strand is one of the most talented poets currently writing
mark strand is the former poet
mark strand is the author of ten books of poems
mark strand is the former poet laureate of the united states
mark strand is a former poet laureate of the united states
mark strand is one of america's most accomplished poets
mark strand is one of those poets
mark strand is one of our finest contemporary american poets
mark strand is interviewed by uofm professor of english language and literature
mark strand is well able to articulate in words the compelling
mark strand is one of the most
mark strand is one of the most imitated poets in america
mark strand is the author of blizzard of one
mark strand is the author of numerous books of poetry
mark strand is a visual artist as well as a poet
mark strand is a master of minimalism who moves deftly between abstraction and the details of actual experience
mark strand is featured
mark strand is the author of nine books of poems
mark strand is noted for its surreal quality
mark strand is best known for his absurdist
mark strand is preposterous
mark strand is the judge of the
mark strand is published by knopf
mark strand is not my favorite poet
mark strand is wrong to begin with
mark strand is the author of nine books of poetry
mark strand is teaching at the writing seminars at johns hopkins
mark strand is former poet laureate of the united states
mark strand is attracted to hopper's works because it is the same america he remembersAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13173932.post-1136564718070165002006-01-06T11:25:00.000-05:002006-01-06T11:25:00.000-05:00I just "found" this poem by Strand, but will inclu...I just "found" this poem by Strand, but will include it in my new book under my name.......

STRANDED AT THE COFFEE SHOP

in the hotel of non-existence
the VACANCY sign flashes

I’ve a room there
and a broken TV channeling
only me
the famous show of no-shows

in the coffee shop
they don’t serve
coffee
so I order
a cheese sandwich

the waitress
brings the sandwich
to another table

and I say
in a cheese sandwich
I am the absence of ham

without a cheese sandwich
there’s no proof that
I am

and she says
you’ve been here since
before you were born
and what’s worse
you’ve always been
a lousy tipper

so I slap myself down on the table
an ostentatious 15% on the cheese sandwich dollar
I don’t leave
I never leave
for though life is uncertain
and my room belongs to another
I know that in my heart of hearts
in life’s only sandwich
I am
everpresent and eternal
the existential hamgary barwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05063921311334434357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13173932.post-1136406858125811802006-01-04T15:34:00.000-05:002006-01-04T15:34:00.000-05:00keeping in mind of course that a lot of stuff peop...keeping in mind of course that a lot of stuff people 'find' is stolen (thinking of a time when when one of my personal emails was published by ECW under someone else's name). Sampling is simple, translating is fine (as long as the poet doesn't bore me with the process details), and stealing's a steal. Sounds like what he did was really cheap. Strand's a thief.
